 Process Engineer Merichem Gas Technologies MGT10-0032Merichem has an immediate need for a Process Engineer to provide process and instrumentation engineering & technical support for new LO-CAT projects, process improvement, technical service, and Sales and Marketing, including drawings, calculations, specifications and customer/vendor interactionsRequirements: Experience Required:   General engineering calculations, knowledge and experience  Understanding every aspect of the LO-CAT process, including chemistry, treatment options, equipment, problems to avoid, research results, design standards, and plant histories.

Qualifications Required:   Education: BS in Chemical Engineering  Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)   Ability to gather and analyze data, set priorities, organize tasks and meet deadlines, while coordinating multiple job functions  Ability to understand and communicate all information contained on Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)    Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

  Position requires giving and receiving information to and from many individuals.

Functional Requirements:   Prepare process flow diagrams with mass and energy balances,   Prepare P&IDs (Piping and Instrument Drawings) and conduct reviews  Size and specify vessels, heat exchangers and rotating equipment  Specify instruments and describe in detail the process control requirements  Evaluate vendor quotes  Assist with Technical services, including customer communications, troubleshooting, process changes, and occasional training or plant visits  Write design memos for process improvement and standardization  Assist Sales & Marketing with process calculations occasionally  Any other duties and responsibilities, as assigned  Prioritize, organize & efficiently complete daily work requirements from ever-changing external customer inquiries as well as internal customers.

  Provide prompt & complete responses to all customer inquiries.

    Prepare accurate calculations, some of which are non-standard, PFDs, P&IDs, and specifications on-time and within budget.

  Complete quality checking, as required on customer deliverables.

  Continuous improvement of LO-CAT product line.

 General Requirements:    Work in Schaumburg, Illinois    Able to work in an office environment on a computer for extended periods of time.

   Able to maintain focus and analyze data.
