Principal Specialist-Tech Writing Job in Pittsfield 01201, Massachusetts US
Description: The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in the areas of Fleet Documentation, functioning as a Principal Specialist on various Development Teams within the Fire Control, Weapon Training Systems, Guidance, LCS or other Programs.
The individual works with the IPT teams and provides technical solutions in the concept, requirements and implementation of documentation assignments required by these Programs.
The candidate will be required to respond to engineering assignments by applying broad technical expertise, develop solutions to problems that require creativity and ingenuity, and may represent the organization as a customer contact.Responsibilities: 1.Develop and implement fleet documentation concept development2Lead and / or perform fleet documentation requirements analysis activities3Develop Content Specifications for fleet documentation projects4Develop descriptive, procedural, and / or reference documentation5Contribute to project planning, execution, measurement and reporting6Some travel will be requiredExperience: Minimum of 5 years experience in developing documentation - preferably electronic, or related engineering field is required.
Knowledge and experience with development of specification documents is preferred.
SGML/XML authoring experienced preferred.
Proven hands on experience with product development and test.
Experience working with Product development teams is a plus.
Excellent planning and leadership skills are required.
Other Job Requirements: US Citizen with SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance presently or within 5 years (preferred).

SecretQualifications: Education: BS in Electrical or Computer Science is preferred or equivalent naval experience in fire control, missile or launcher.
