Principal Scientist - Technical Leader Job in San Diego, California US

We are currently looking for a Principal Scientist to work for a leading San Diego area biotechnology company.
Principal Scientist - Technical Leader The Technical Leader is responsible for providing technical leadership, evaluating all methods used by the laboratory, evaluating new or modified analytical procedures and technical problem solving of analytical methods.
The technical leader will be responsible for the oversight of the training, quality assurance and safety in the laboratory.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Responsible for the technical training of all direct reports and monitoring of employee performance, written evaluations, training records and resolving issues of group dynamics.
Prepares test plans that meets customer needs as well as address customer complaints.
Supervises and manages the workload activities of direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS: US Citizenship is a MUST to comply with government contract constraints and candidate may be subject to government background security check.
BS with 9+ years or experience or Masters degree with 6+ years in biology, chemistry or science-related area.
A Ph. D.
is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph. D.
with lab experience as follows: Minimum of 3 years DNA extraction experience Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory or management experience in a DNA laboratory Please submit resume to john [at] biophaseinc [dot] com for immediate consideration.
