Principal JAVA Software Engineer Job in Hopkinton 01748, Massachusetts US
GENERAL SUMMARYDevelopment of data protection management software within the EMC Data Protection Advisor product.
We are looking for a highly talented and motivated engineer that can quickly come up to speed on the existing product and related technologies.
The candidate will be a part of a small team, focusing on design and implementation of new and existing product features for upcoming releases in Data Protection Advisor.
Candidate will have opportunities to work with team members around the globe as well as with other organizations across EMC.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and implementation of new features for monitoring, analyzing and reporting data protection information in enterprise-level customer environments.
Troubleshooting and maintenance of existing product features.
SKILLSStrong Java / Swing programming, and proficient with tools such as and Eclipse and subversion.
Experience with developing Linux, UNIX or Microsoft Windows platforms; cross and multi-platform experience will be a plus.
Knowledge of "C"/C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio strongly recommended.
Understanding of S/W development life cycle and processesGood problem-solving analytical skills Experienced with XML technologies Possess excellent verbal and written communications skillsAbility to effectively work with peers throughout the organization Working knowledge of tools such as Bugzilla and Subversion.
