Press Operator Job in Newburyport, Massachusetts US
Bradford & Bigelow a book manufacturing printer located in Newburyport, MA is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Press Operator position.
Responsibilities: Establishes printing quality by pulling proof copies; adjusting ink distribution, and speed.
Maintains production and quality by inspecting random production samples; adjusting settings and controls.
Minimizes downtime by troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for maintenance assistance.
Changes required plates, blankets.
Shuts-down printing presses by removing ink and paper; cleaning parts and components; returning paper and ink to stock.
Ensures press operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains press supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating supplies requirements; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Candidate must have 3-5 years experience running and maintaining a press, hanging plates, changing paper rolls, and consistently inspecting a maintaining a high quality of web work.
Position requires availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
