Prepress Operator PrintPlace.com is currently seeking a Prepress Operator.
The Prepress Operator will receive customer files, set-up and prepare materials for press as well as take press ready files and gang files onto press forms Duties: * Impose jobs onto gang run forms in the most efficient and economical way possible* Create die lines, mock ups and proofs * Naming and archiving of final files to agreed company procedures * Checking press ready files, proofs & imposed press forms for quality and accuracy* Preparing electronic artwork files * Pre-flight files to ensure all jobs meet quality standards and are error-free * Taking existing artwork and making it press ready * Trapping and stepping files to specifications* Continuously seek to improve processes, eliminating product and process non-conformance * Seek to improve efficiency and recommend any process changes to Plant Manager * Seek to improve skills and knowledge from co-workers * Other duties as assigned Skills: * Have an understanding of ganging versions/ jobs* Have an understanding of printing and bindery processes* Mac experience plus software knowledge Adobe Acrobat, Pre-Flight Software, Metrix, PitStop, Quark Xpres
6. 5, Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign* A strong work ethic that focuses on professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy and commitment to deadlines * Ability to work with minimum supervision* Ability to work in a fast passed environment ABSOUTELY NO CALLS!
