The Logistics/USPS Manager recommends the best postal and logistics strategy to meet client in-home needs at the most cost-effective price.
The Logistics manager will work with Estimating to create postage and logistics schedules and costs and then will work directly with logistic suppliers, production vendors, and the project manager to coordinate and implement the logistics plan.
· Orchestrate delivery of mail within specified In Home dates with production facilities, logistics companies and Hacker Group· Analyze mailing and distribution schemes to provide a balance of cost and delivery optimization· Reduce costs, maximize productivity, efficiency and profit for all postal and logistics endeavors· Support customers and Hacker Group in maximizing the value of distribution expenditures while minimizing risk · Provide unparalleled knowledge of the USPS mailing requirments and all postal affairs Review format specifications and designs for USPS requirements· Liaison with local and national USPS personnel· Prevent postal issues, working with HG Project managers, production facilities and USPS· Aggressively work through postal issues to achieve meaningful resolutions· Manage logistics providers · Provide ongoing education to Hacker Group staff and Customers that facilitates the interpretation of and understanding of USPS regulations and related disciplinesExperience Required: · Extensive experience with USPS rules, regulations, design, and processing requirements· Expert in the distribution of printed matter via the USPS and third party carriers· Expert skill and proven ability to maximize postal optimization techniques including commingle, copal, direct shipments and other services· Highly knowledgeable of all aspects of the Direct Marketing Industry· Experience in data processing and postal software· Certified as MQC (Mail piece Quality Control)· Strong working knowledge of impending postal regulations and the potential impact· Solid MS Excel skills We will also expect the team member to have, maintain and expand relationships with: · A large network of high level contacts in the industry and USPS at a national level· Local postal management teams in the areas where our mail is produced· A significant number of Freight & Logistics carriers and a diverse group of lettershops
