Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer Job in Los Angeles 90008, California US
Our client, an international firm that specializes in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design and engineering of highly creative and complex building project types throughout the world, is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to work out of their Los Angeles based office.Job DescriptionThe Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer duties will include the production of co-coordinated detailed design specifications, written reports, site surveys, and schedules on a variety of projects within the public health discipline, including; above ground foul and rainwater drainage systems, below ground drainage systems and some hot and cold water services.
Job Requirements-Confident, proactive character, able to take the lead in challenging situations -Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients -Ability to run projects successfully -Good IT skills -Preference is for an individual who is fully conversant with the working practices employed by consulting engineers -Corporate membership of a relevant institution Qualifications: -The Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer will hold a degree in the Mechanical or Plumbing and Fire Protection disciplines.
-5 - 8 years relevant experience.
-Operate and competently work on an independent basis.
-Communicate directly with clients.
-Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design.
-Prepare Technical Specifications.
-Must have AutoCAD experience and REVIT is a plus.
-Set up and manage job/project administrative systems.
-Ensure senior staff is kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
-Ensuring all relevant staff is informed of client matters.
-Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and that the firm's policy is in keeping with current codes.
-Commitment to self learning/development.
-It would also be beneficial to have experience with rainwater harvesting and sprinkler systems.
Required Skills: Mechanical or Plumbing and Fire Protection Degree, 5-8 years of experience in the MEP field., Experience working on a wide range of projects types.
