Broad Function and Objective Assist the Area Controller in all accounting and financial duties including; cost accounting, inventory analysis, variance analysis, month end closings, and special projects.
In addition this position will play a key role in metrics analysis for both the operations and sales teams.
Will supervise office personnel and serve as a project leader.
Principal Accountabilities The functional and relationship responsibilities of the position in order of importance (highest to lowest).
1. Responsible to the Area Controller for the first level preparation of the monthly close (journal entry preparation, reconciliations, plant financial statement preparation) and financial reviews2 Responsible for review of the coding of accounts payables as well as insuring the timeliness of processing3 Complete weekly and monthly metric reporting4 Ensure sales tax returns are filed in accordance with local regulations5 Conduct regular bill of material cost reviews, and take corrective actions as required6 Review the accuracy of the components with plant operations following Regional BOM audits7 Verify inter-company accounts with Corporate and other plants8 Responsible for fixed asset accounting9 Assist in annual budget and year-end financial activities.10. Assist in the selection and training of staff in the plant finance department.11. Assist the Area Controller in developing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls and compliance Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.12. Direct responsibility for the supervision of plant finance staff.13. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Area Controller.14. Proficiently serve as backup for the functions performed by the plant finance staff.
15. Assist Area Controller to support sales groups.
Required Qualifications Education BS in Accounting or Business Experience 5 years finance experience with emphasis on variance reporting and analysis in a manufacturing environment.
