Pharmacy Technician Job in Maryland US
A large Fortune 500 company is looking for Pharmacy technicians with customer service and/or call center backgrounds to staff one of their Healthcare Call Centers in downtown Baltimore area.
Duties and Responsibilities: Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for taking incoming live calls from a variety of providers, clients, and occasionally members.
Apply clinical criteria to these requests, and document the outcome of request in the mainframe database.
Perform research using on-line database information and reference materials.
Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements: Experienced Pharmacy Technician/Medical Assistant/LPN preferred.
MUST have valid Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Knowledge of medications and their uses.
Familiar with medical terminology.
Customer service oriented with excellent phone/communication skills.
Type 25 wpm. Prefer 2 years experience in the areas specified above.
Prior customer service/call center experience, and experience with managed care prior authorization processes.
