Description: The Project Specialist - CTMS will manage the end-to-end project management lifecycle for the implementation of a new enterprise application system to manage the clinical trials operations at the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer CenterPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities - With the group manager, works directly with the business customers and sponsors as the liaison to the IT project team and sets expectations for project approach, deliverables, and timeline- Manages scope and implementation across the entire lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, implementation and support, for Dana-Farbers new CTMS.

- Facilitates and maintains cross functional communications between stakeholders and project teams.

- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project deliverables and milestones, plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

- Establishes and maintains project management practices and processes, in close coordination with the Dana-Farber Project Management Office (PMO), including those addressing risk and issue management.

- Coordinates, facilitates and drives the meetings between different user groups and collaborating project entities.

- Establishes appropriate quality assurance, beta and production release and support handover tasks across project plans.

- Manages project repository and ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

- Conducts regular project status meetings and provides updates to senior management in a timely, consistent fashion.

- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

- Represents the CTMS program requirements within the scope of IT departmental and overall DF/HCC information technology endeavors.

Manages risk/ opportunity trade-offs within overall organizational goals.

Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Life Sciences or related field.

MBA or MS desired.

- 5-7 years of Project Management experience in coordinating and managing projects from end-to-end, with formal Project Management training.

Project Management certification preferred- 5+ years Experience in implementing enterprise-wide vendor solutions in a complex business environment.

- Excellent business analysis, requirements gathering and communication/facilitation skills along with driving consensus towards closing pending issues/items needed.

- Excellent tracking, documentation and follow-through process needed towards driving pending items to resolution/closure with diverse set of resources needed.

- In-depth experience working with MS Project for schedule and resource planning- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in coaching and mentoring small teams- Experience in implementing enterprise-wide vendor solutions in a complex business environment- Experience in converting legacy applications and data into new systems, with minimal disruption to business processes- Experience with clinical trials, clinical research and/or clinical systems is desired.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required - Ability to work effectively with all levels of executives, researchers, and technical IT staff, both within and outside of Dana Farber.

- Self-starter, able to organize and lead complex project efforts with minimal supervision, while aligned with the goals and vision of the organization- Ability to collaborate in a new and evolving technical and development environment, and to participate in the decisions that will define new processes and standards.
