OPERATIONS DIRECTOR - SPECIALTY CHEMICALS MANUFACTURING Job in Richton Park 60471, Illinois US
Plant Operations Director Specialty Chemicals A global specialty chemicals corporation seeks an experienced manufacturing executive to lead manufacturing operations at a 150 employee plant south of Chicago.
The Operations Director will be responsible for producing and shipping quality products consistently and efficiently while achieving HSSE excellence.
The Operations Director will ensure efficient utilization of departmental resources to continually improve cost reduction measures and enforce HSSE compliance as set forth under OSHA and corporate policy.
Ideal candidates should possess: BS in Chemical Engineering or similar discipline5-10 years of relevant experience in a chemical process production plant; 3+ years of operational (production) supervisory/line management experience.
Excellent leadership, communication decision-making, team-building, and organizational skillsAble to motivate, manage, coach, and develop employeesSet aggressive objectives, follow through, and deliver results, while facilitating cooperation between departmentsStrong computer skills SAP experience preferredWorking knowledge of OSHA standards, concepts, and procedures, especially relating to Life Critical activities and environmental regulationsAble to conduct investigations, develop root causes, and develop/deliver corrective actionsFamiliarity with batch and continuous processing and 6 Sigma a plusAble to interface with various professional levels within and external to the organization, as well as serve as back-up the Plant Manager.
Targeted compensation for the position would be in the $100/120K+ base and participation in an incentive bonus program ( 20 % ).
