At our Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility, a broad range of positions support our efforts to provide an outstanding customer shopping experience by processing customer orders, returns and inbound merchandise. When you join the Cedar Rapids team, you'll be welcomed into a family dedicated to creating memorable and rewarding shopping experiences for our customers.   The ideal IT operations technician acts independently under general direction and is committed to providing outstanding customer service every day.    Responsibilities   Support the IT operations and system needs of the Fulfillment and Contact CenterMonitor IT operations jobs on the AS400, iSeries and HP platforms and provide general IT support for business operations across all IT shiftsFill in for other shift personnel as neededFulfill specific IT operations tasks, such as WM wave management, packslip and label preparation and distributionTrouble shoot problems that arise with Fulfillment and Contact Center equipment such as: personal computers, printers, network and radio frequency equipment, telephones, servers and packaging systemsPrototype new and existing system and operations processes and make recommendations for improvementsDevise, modify and implement procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations of operating time windowsProvide off hours support as part of rotating on-call support team Qualifications   1-3 years experience in technical systems support and network/telephone troubleshooting required2 year degree in related computer field required1-3 years experience with various Windows operating systems and desktop administration tools requiredProficiency with Microsoft Office productsKnowledge of project and task management processesKnowledge of database systems such as Microsoft Access and DB2/400Experience using query tools for reporting purposesFamiliarity with software development and programming using tools such as COBOL, RPG, Java Since 1901, Nordstrom has offered a wide variety of quality apparel, shoes and accessories for men, women and children at our stores across the country.
