Network Security Specialist Job in Las Vegas, Nevada US
Network Security SpecialistNational Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), prime contractor to the US Department of Energys National Nuclear Security Administration, has an immediate opening for a Network Security Specialist to configure and monitor firewalls and network systems, and analyze and mitigate cyber threats for the Emergency Communications Network project installed maintained and operated by the Digital Technologies section.
Work location will be the Remote Sensing Laboratory at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV. US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
Successful candidate will assist with the administration of the Firewall, VPN, and Two Factor authentication systems.
Perform the duties of Information Systems Security Office for the Emergency Communications Network.
Maintain Security Plans, Risk Assessments etc. Assist with the implementation and operation of the IT test lab to ensure operating system and application patches and software upgrades pose no adverse impact to on-line systems when placed in an operational environment.
Successful candidate shall possess an Associate degree in Management Information Systems or field related to the position or equivalent and a minimum of six years' progressive experience.
Background and experience in network communications environments, to include systems administration and technical support of Windows and Unix- or Linux-based systems.
Ability to remotely manage offsite systems is desirable.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, CISCO Certified Network Associate and CISSP and SANA GIAG certifications are desirable.
Must be able to physically move and lift 50 pounds above the waist without assistance.
