Job DescriptionSupports the Defense Information System Network (DISN) Systems: IP and Optical Transport.

- Acts on behalf of the Information Assurance Officer (IAO) and Information Assurance Manager (IAM) to ensure compliance with the information system security procedures developed for the above information technology systems.

Responsible to the Designated Approving Authority (DAA) for maintaining the approved accredited baseline.

Responsibilities include ensuring that the accredited information systems are operated, managed, secured, and used in accordance with internal security policies and procedures.

Duties include the preparation, maintenance and distribution of plans and system-specific security guidance regarding the technical security controls implemented in the information systems.

Develop and conduct Security Awareness training and recommend professional training for IP and Optical Transport network personnel.

Prepares, distributes, and maintains plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures (SOP) concerning the security management and operations.

Performs evaluation of security incidents and direct reporting of and restoration from security incidents.

Evaluates and recommends technologies intended for the enhancement of the network security posture and establish security configuration profiles.

Direct response to vulnerability notifications as pertaining to the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Joint Task Force Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO), and vendor notifications.

RequirementsGenerally requires a BS degree, or equivalent, and 7+ years experience in a related discipline.

Experience performing IA duties above.

Hands on experience running security tools such as firewalls, virtual private networks (VPN), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and two-factor authentication systems on Solaris/Linux servers.

In-depth knowledge and hands on experience securing Cisco and Juniper routers.

In-depth knowledge of IPv6.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Comptia Security+, and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), certification.
