Position Description: OptumHealth is searching for a Network Contractor to develop and maintain the Commercial Dental PPO network yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, and stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners.

The Network Contractor will evaluate, negotiate, and renew dental provider contracts and financial reimbursements according to standards defined by senior management.

Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers and ensuring network composition provides an appropriate distribution of provider types that meets expectation of sales and account management teams.

Primary Responsibilities: Overall market level expansion based upon competitive analysis Recruiting new practitioner relationships within defined market through mail, call, and face-to-face recruitment campaigns Network development for a top market as defined by Senior Management annually; these markets will represent the critical growth and retention markets within your defined territory Focused recruitment on key geographical markets as defined by GeoAccess and Provider disruption reports as well as client-specific objectives brought forward by Sales & Account Management Network Maintenance within assigned territory; maintain existing provider relationships and network expansion through leveraging existing relationships Primary provider servicing accountabilities will include at risk negotiations.

Receive, assess, and triage escalated concerns Face out to the practitioner and serve as the liaison between the practitioner and Network Operations for escalated concerns Complete proactive calls and visits as needed to maintain and grow key relationships and support organizational objectives (ie provider adoption of EPS and other self-service tools, data verification, re-credentialing paperwork, etc.) OptumHealth is part of the family of companies that make UnitedHealth Group one of the leaders across most major segments of the US health care system.

Qualifications: Strong face to face and telephone sales and negotiation skills is requiredAbility to develop and facilitate network growth and maintenance strategies within a territoryMicrosoft Office (Excel)3+ years experience in provider relations and/or healthcare provider network development and pricing is preferredFamiliarity with GeoAccess reporting tools preferred, but not requiredStrong knowledge of end to end provider contracting process is a plusKnowledge of provider reimbursement methodology preferredAbility to work independently or within a team environment to achieve network development objectivesExcellent verbal and written communication skills Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.
