We are a national Risk management company currently seeking a FT National Director for our Auto and General Liability Business Unit.

GENERAL SUMMARYTo provide leadership and operational management for the National Liability Claims Program.

To ensure that production and quality control standards set by the company are met daily.

Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and provide positive feedback, successfully influencing results and creating efficiencies that will allow profitable growth of the company.

Recommend and support protocols and performance metrics through use, communication, feedback, and managing divisions performance outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESo Responsible for the daily management and operation of the National Liability Claims Program, coordinating workflow and monitoring performance for all units.

o Will take appropriate steps to ensure standards for quality/quantity are delivered allowing the company to meet its service commitments.

As such, must effectively delegate work and motivate staff to ensure that the necessary time is available to meet all management responsibilities.

o Monitor personnel and operation performance, and take the necessary steps to improve and streamline the program to allow for profitable growth of the division.

o Monitor performance closely and, when necessary take corrective measures to rectify any performance deficiencies.

o Will provide staff members with ongoing feedback in order to positively influence results.

o Responsible for filling the employment needs of the program and that applicable employment criteria are met. Ensure that appropriate policies are followed and that new hires transition into the company is a smooth one.o Must possess a thorough understanding of the companys policies and practices.

Must be able to deal with both management and personnel problems in a sensitive and tactful manner, effectively coordinating and resolving problems and conflicts, or potential problems ensuring effective operation of the program.

o Provide the necessary support and direction for company projects, goals, and time schedules.

Responsible for setting and meeting annual goals established for the program and for meeting those goals on a timely basis.

o Keep management abreast of developments within the operation and provide support for management on special projects.

o Be willing and able to process claims and fill-in or support teams for unplanned events or as needed.

o Responsible for identifying training needs of existing staff and new hires and develop and implement training programs enhancing the staffs technical expertise as it relates to new products, systems, service interface, and treatment protocols.

o Must possess a good business sense and be able to analyze facts and information relative to service issues, technical problems, operational issues, and liability issues allowing sound and prudent business decisions which affect the operation.

o Must possess a thorough understanding of all products and services sold by the company and their impact/ relationship on the office and the technological support systems.

As such, must be available to offer support and technical expertise to departmental members and managers as system, legal, and compliance issues arise.

o Monitor regulatory compliance to ensure requirements are met within defined parameters.

o Must have a thorough understanding of all legislative requirements and must be able to effectively interpret those requirements in a prudent business manner.

o Maintain a professional image of self and company.

o Maintain a license for the states and or Commonwealth and products serviced by the team or the operation.

o Organize and update all reference material to reflect current legislation and regulatory compliance.

o Ensure compliance with all quality control standards set by the company for the handling of claims and other defined service functions.

Will ensure that the program complies with all procedures set forth by the company for performance as it relates to the various components of claim administrative services.

o Will immediately notify Management of any unusual lawyer inquiries, insurance carrier inquiries, or department of insurance inquiries.

Will have a thorough understanding of all E & O liabilities and will keep current and accurate documentation to support claims paying practices and decision-making authorities.

o Understand all facets of system automation and bring new solutions to the company allowing the office to meet standards and unique customer needs.

o Understand the operation of a personal computer and take the appropriate steps to expand current understanding of the technology available as a means to increase personal and operational efficiencies.

o Responsible for adherence to the budget.

Assist management through the various stages of budget review, implementation and monthly review to help with the expense management goals of the company.

o Have a thorough knowledge of managed care products and services, and understand the impact such products have on claim administration and internal operations.

o Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff.

Must be able to effectively prioritize individual and operational needs to meet quality and service standards set by the company.

o Ensure operational compliance with all practices and policies.

o Evaluate workflow and technological support functions, and determine methodologies, which allow for increased production from staff members.

o Direct and motivate members of the operation to meet or exceed the companys production standards.

Monitor performance and caseloads to ensure overall performance of the company standards.

o Ensure the integrity of the technological support systems, allowing the company to deliver both quality and timely services to customers and claimants in accordance with the standards set by the company.

Will provide the technical support needed by all staff levels allowing the operation to expand and meet its goals and objectives.

o Provide ideas and suggestions to management that will improve the level of service and the quality received by our customers.

o Ensure that all correspondence, regulatory filings and internal documents are free of errors.

The associate will ensure compliance with regulatory agencies for filings.

o Provide excellent telephone services to claimants, clients, contacts, and outside vendors.

On an ongoing basis, educate and train staff members in order to emphasize the importance of providing superior customer service to our customers.

o Ensure that all inquiries to the operation are responded to in a timely manner.

Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.

o Provide ongoing feedback to management on issues and concerns impacting our customers and recommend corrective action whenever deemed appropriate.

JOB SPECIFICATIONSo A minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in the liability claims field in a management position is required.

o Must have technical and operational knowledge of the legislation, regulation and compliance requirements of the industry.

o Technical knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, systems, managed care products and their impact on claim handling are required.

o An ability to interface with attorneys, arbitrators, state regulatory agencies, and customers is an important part of this job. o Must also be able to interpret state and federal law in addition to contracts and policies.

o Prior leadership and management abilities must be demonstrated.
