Multimedia and Mobile Development Software Engineer Job in New York 10001, New York US
Were a new mobile media company, Thwapr, and were hiring for our New York head office.
We are now hiring a full-time software engineer focused on multimedia and mobile development, reporting to the CTO. REQUIRED:
3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET programming and servers, including Visual Studio .NET
3+ years experience with front-end web technologies - HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
Video and digital media experience, experience with audio and video compression, media players, streaming content, and multimedia transcoding/format conversions
Experience in consumer based web applications with medium to high scale
Experience in database design and implementation.
You should understand why one particular database schema is badly designed and another is well designed.
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university
Proactive hands-on, problem solver, comfortable in a start-up environment
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to successfully interact with technical and non-technical staff DESIRED:
Mobile development and testing experience (web apps and/or native apps)
Social networking and/or social media app development experience
Experience developing J2EE apps using both backend Java and web technologies
Excellent communication skills
