Monitor Technician Job in Whiting, Indiana US
Job Description Airgas Oilind Safety Inc. is currently seeking an Air Monitoring Technician.
This job includes troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing and reporting of output of gas monitoring equipment.
Also will have to track inventory, place restocking orders, and complete out service order in a timely manner.KEY RESPONSIBLITITES: Be part of a team responsible for monitoring customer air monitoring equipment.
This monitoring involves surveillance 24/7, analysis of results, and generation of reports for the customer.
Calculates time for remaining life, and performs Fitness for Service evaluations.
Inspects equipment and monitors process data to assure equipment is safe for continued operation.
Ensures electronic Inspection Plans are developed, communicated, and executed on schedule.
Makes repair decisions and issues detailed repair Work Orders.
Ensures fixed equipment compliance requirements are met.Provides technical information for engineers, operators, and quality control technicians.
Documents results of all inspections and equipment repairs.
Successfully participates in technical, inspection, analytical, communication, and work flow training to develop skills.
Responsible for alerting the customer when a certain threshold is crossed.
To maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and sampling systems.
Maintain and validate the accuracy of gas-measurement devices used by other customers; Produce calibration reportsPerform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associates or Technical School Degree is preferred.You must be available to work in a shift schedule (24x7).
Minimum of 2 years in the petrochemical industry.
Strong computer skills are required to maintain Inspection Database & analyze Monitoring data.
This requires to work closely with other employees, great with customer relationsTechnical experience with oil & gas pipeline operations & installations.
Experience working with a pipeline operator, pipeline contractor, pipeline construction company, in a pipeline control room, or with a pipeline surveillance company.
Previous field experience during installation & startup would be ideal.
Valid driver's license for the size and type of vehicle to be driven on the job, an acceptable driving record; ability to become DOT operator-qualified while working in the position
