Mechanical Engineer Job in Minneapolis, Minnesota US
Specific Responsibilities: *Responsible for organizing the design, development, implementation and maintenance of engineering products.
*Assist with developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods.
*Help tranisition products from product inception through production.
*Verify the manufacture of products and process optimization.
* Interface with key customers and vendors.
* Perform design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications.
* Assignments require the investigation of cost reduction variables.
* Provide technical support of manufacturing including specification of new componenets, and the recommendation of changes to improve performance.
*Stay informed of new technologies and developments in the field.
* Assit team members with advice or solutions to technical problems.
*Provide technical support to customer engineers and mgmt, *Plan and design product applications and assemble prototype drawings.
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Master niceExperience: *3+ years experience in product design and development, manufacturing environment experience in addition to sheet metal, plastic molding and metal tooling.
*3+ years of mechanical design experience.
*Basic knowledge of specifying finishes and coating operations.
* Experience using Inventor 3D Modeling Application.
*Machine shop CNC Milling and Turning .
*Experience with dimensional tolerances and inspection techniques are required.
*Problems resolution skills using solutions involving new design and assembly techniques, technologies and concepts is a must.
* Tool and fixture making experience is a plus.
* AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop is a plus.
*Company has been designing in Inventor and is moving to PTC CoCreate - experience with Inventor needed and CoCreat a huge plus.
*AutoDesk Vault a plus.
*Software Skill a plus.
*Machanism design - linkage, leverls, drives a plus.
*Bar Code Optics a plus.
*Designing to UL Specs a plus
