Care to join us? DepartmentThe Tower and Structure department currently consists of more then 35 highly skilled employees located in Denmark, India, US and China.

The department is Vestas competence centre for design, finite element analyses and structural verification of main components in the nacelle and tower.

Our component responsibility includes the hub, machine foundation, main shaft, welded components, bolt connections, tower and foundation.

As our new Mechanical Design Engineer, you will become a member of an already strong team of engineers using modern design tools to develop new wind turbines.

You will work together with highly skilled project team members and support them with your excellent technical know how. Responsibilities and TasksYour work will primarily include: Working innovatively with design of cast and welded components from specification to final partWorking together with suppliers, production, installation and transportation globally to ensure integrated product developmentPerforming preliminary strength validation using FE analysisWorking closely together with FE engineers and passing on the necessary input for generation of the verification documentationCooperating with design engineers from other departments in order to shape the turbine architecture and mechanical interfaces for other components Qualifications and Work ExperienceAs a Mechanical Design Engineer you should be creative and have talent and flair for designing highly loaded structural partsYou probably hold a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.You have solid experience with Pro-Engineer or other 3D design tool.You have experience with integrated product developmentYou have good knowledge of manufacturing processes and casting techniqueYou have experience with FE analysisYou have good English skills, both verbally and in writing Your Personality: You have drive and passion for what you do and can keep focus on the targetYou are responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutionsYou enjoy working in a team with professionals from many different disciplinesYou are attracted by an international environment with a high level of activityYou have a proactive and extrovert personality and have the ability to build up an internal networkYou like to work independently as well as with others What we offerWe offer you a challenging and demanding job with excellent professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment at the worlds leading manufacturer of wind turbines.
