Targa Resources, Inc. (Targa) is a leading provider of midstream natural gas and NGL services in the United States.

Targa is currently seeking a Measurement Technician for their facility located in Mont Belvieu, TX. Job ResponsibilitiesThe Targa Mont Belvieu Complex is located one mile North of I-10 on 146 near Mont Belvieu, Texas.

This complex includes a fractionator, rail, truck and underground storage.

This Targa facility works within a safe environment and all personnel are required to participate within the terms of this environment including, hiring, safety, environmental awareness and participation in all required work as deemed by business needs.


Installation, maintenance and calibration of turbine, coriolis, ultrasonic, and orifice meters
Installation, maintenance and calibration of densitometers
Installation, maintenance and operation of provers
Installation, maintenance and calibration of pressure, temperature and other transmitters used for measurement
Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems
Ability to monitor and analyze measurement data and the ability to react to this data
Interface with measurement control system
Installation, and maintenance of various brands of flow computers
Interpersonal skills required to interface with customers and team
Monitor process variables and conditions to ascertain the current state of the operated process.


Monitor and recognize dangerous and/or emergency conditions within the process and perform procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process/facility in order to protect personnel, community, environment and equipment.


Work with coworkers in the response to emergency situations requiring coordination, equipment or plant shutdown, and/or evacuation.


Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems.


Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.


Write repair work requests for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of normal operations using a CMMS (MAXIMO).


Utilize proper Lockout/Tag out operating and safety proceduresMinimum Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.


Valid drivers license and safe driving record.


Minimum 2 years experience in the energy industry
Basic understanding and troubleshooting skills on PCs and PC software
Able to work in a self-directed work team.


Able to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.


Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and able to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives and the ability to work abnormal work shifts for plant conditions.


Able to work in close quarters, work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

Preferred Qualifications
Two year associates degree in instrumentation and/or equivalent training
Five years experience in the energy industry
Two + years working with petroleum measurement
Basic understanding of WANs and LANs
Familiarity working with software including WonderWare and Excel
Be able to diagnose, repair, and deploy PCs and Servers
