Manufacturing Equipment Planner (Sr. Engineer position)
We are looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Equipment Planner with demonstrable experience in the field.
Your activity in our company will be within the exciting environment of a major European automotive manufacturer in the US. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: This position will plan and oversee fabrication, installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment for production of high quality automotive vehicles.
Candidate for the manufacturing planning and control position addresses decisions on the acquisition, utilization and allocation of production resources in the most efficient and effective way.The Candidate psarticipate in equipment acceptance tests at suppliers, insures equipment is installed and operating on schedule.
Technical review of equipment designs and participation in equipment acceptance trials are part of this position as well.
He/She takes ownership for manufacturing equipment to insure proper function on day-to-day basis and acts as liaison with product development engineering in releasing new products to insure manufacturing capability exists to meet new product requirements.
Hands-on ownership of manufacturing equipment to insure proper operation, maintenance and use.Technical leadership in functional specialty of Lean Manufacturing is required.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Education: Minimum BS degree in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
Individual with a minimum of 5 years direct manufacturing experience and production planning.
Proven history of production equipment research and purchasing.
Extensive experience in material handling and station layout.
Automotive conveyor system experience is required.
Ability to design fixtures and tooling for manufacturing.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing process and procedures and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for finding solutions.
Solid understanding of computerized manufacturing systems, robotic welding, CNC mill, CNC lathe, and vibratory de-burring system.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six SigmaProficiency in the use of engineering CAD models to perform inspection and program CMM.Experience in maintenance of high-speed automated assembly process.
Knowledge of surfacing and coating systems is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrate problem solving ability and success with continuous improvement programs.
