Manager of Planning & Analysis Job in Chicago, Illinois US
Publicly traded manufacturer of components and assemblies to the global aerospace industry in Chicago, Illinois seeks a process improvement oriented Manager of Planning & Analysis to develop a best in class finance function.
The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing environment, have experience running a P&L with an organization with best practices in place, and have an MBA from a top school.
Responsibilities: The purpose of the role is to lead the financial analysis, planning and budgeting, profitability, and forecasting at both strategic and operational levels.
Provide financial support to operational groups with emphasis on the development and communication of performance measures, business metrics, financial analysis that informs and enhances business decision making at all levels.
This role reports to the CFO. Create a reinvigorated and robust budgeting and planning function providing senior management the means to develop credible and timely financial plansImplement information system tracking actual and budgets and budget revisions and replacing ad hoc reports Craft the annual operating financial plans and their subsequent revisions Forecast cash flowPrepare management reports for the CFO and other top executives at that monitor ongoing performance against financial goalsIdentify incipient problems and initiate appropriate corrective action to keep the company on its target earnings course Provide inputs in the development of business and financial strategies and plans that will effectively support both short and long-term financial, as well as marketplace, performance Requirements: MBA with a Financial, Accounting and / or Analytical undergraduate degree At least 8 years of professional experience in financial roles, including substantial experience in financial planning and analysis Experience in Manufacturing is requiredMust possess a sophisticated understanding of finance concepts and analytical tools Demonstrate aptitude and innate ability at finance and quantitative analysis Exhibit strong analytical and financial modeling skills Skilled at developing performance metrics, financial analysis, and financial reports and plans that guide decision making Able to develop insights about key metrics and business drivers that drive performanceDemonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; be able to convey a message that is clear and concise, linking business issues, financial results and strategy Candidates interested in applying should submit resumes to: posting-il [at] solomonedwards [dot] com Keywords: manager of financial planning and analysis, manager, planning, analysis, analyst, financial analyst, manufacturing, finance, accounting, financial analysis, business metrics, MBA, operating plans, cash flow
