Current NeedAs McKesson moves to leverage spend on an enterprise wide scale, strategic sourcing is a critical dependency of a successful Corporate Procurement Organization.

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing will negotiate commercial and legal terms for a variety Information Technology (IT) related categories including hardware, software and services.

This may include leading cross-functional sourcing teams through full Strategic Sourcing processes.

Functions include; gathering all pertinent information required to negotiate both one-time and strategic contracts.

Providing expertise on vendor and market analysis, detailed financial analysis, sourcing alternatives, contract negotiations, and ultimately establishing agreements.

Total indirect IT spend alone, across the company, is estimated to be over $350mm/yr.

Position Description- Serve as point person for negotiations and contractual issues on a variety of IT related agreements.

- When necessary, gather requirements for new software, hardware and services purchases.

Identify potential sourcing opportunities through spend analysis and stakeholder relationships.

- Assess existing maintenance and support contracts.

- Effectively 'integrate' with key functional area groups and develop good relationships with key stakeholders.

- Research & Prioritize potential agreements and sourcing opportunities based on estimated savings and/or urgency of business need.

- Manage multiple projects at the same time.

- Establish project work plans; including objectives, milestones and key tasks.

- Manage the synthesis of specific industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis and procurement expertise to develop written strategic sourcing strategies for the specific categories being purchased.

- Coordinate external research and provide assessment of category supply market conditions.

- When required, identify, manage and lead teams through all sourcing activities including RFI/RFP development and analysis, auctioning, consortium buying, etc.- Develop supplier management relationships for specific category group ensuring the utilization of a supplier certification process, development of supplier programs, and the identification of continuous improvement initiatives.

- Provide analysis of qualitative and quantitative supplier characteristics, including supplier capabilities, supplier goals and objectives and supplier¿s financial position for requisite categories.

- Effectively prepare, coordinate, and conduct all supplier negotiations along with designated person(s) within the business units.

- Ensure Corporate Procurement meets its committed savings objectives.

Additional Knowledge & Skills- Analytical, planning and strategic skill- Comfortable engaging cross-functional and cross-business unit teams- Proven project management, time management, conflict management, and presentation skills- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applicationsMinimum Requirements- 5 to 8 Years experience in Strategic Sourcing or related field (vendor management, etc.), including RFP development & analysis, supplier negotiations, contract preparation, review and analysis and category/commodity management experience, all preferably in the Information Technology (IT) area- Consulting background a plus- Experience in e-Sourcing tools and techniques (e.
