Description: - Provide detailed Windows Server, VMware, x86 hardware product evaluations, strategic engineering, qualification, service and procedural development of new Windows Platform technology software and hardware solutions, proof of concept testing and product benchmarks- Consult with other Engineering teams, Business Units, Database teams and Architecture groups on technical solutions to best meet the needs of Pfizer business applications.

Design, Engineer and test the recommended solutions in Lab and Development environments providing Engineering Qualification Documents- Improve infrastructure flexibility and scalability with cost-effective solutions for the Windows server and VMware environments.

Improve server utilization through virtualization, system and kernel tuning, resource management and maximize efficiency through automation to adapt quickly to changes in demand- Integration and transition of newly engineered services/solutions into the production environment and provide training, turnover, ELC artifacts and documentation sets- Provide engineering consulting services for business projects as identified.

- System Tools Engineering; develop system enhancement scripts and automation tools for update on large number of Wintel servers.

- Develop, implement and follow processes for integration of new technology into the remote data center management model and turnover over of procedures to service partners.

- Should be able to apply technical and functional knowledge of key concepts in this discipline and function as a key technical resource within the team.

- Must be able to identify repeatable functions being performed in the environment and create scripts and packaged executables.

- Strong knowledge of Service Delivery in an ITIL-framework based environment- Knowledge of FDA IQ/OQ infrastructure qualification- Will need to provide IT acquisition management in order to absorb Windows, Netware, file shares, NT domain and Active directory forests into Pfizer infrastructure.

This will require in-depth knowledge of Microsoft AD, OU, policy and trust relationships.

- Will be responsible and documenting enterprise based licensing solutions such as MS terminal server licensing or any enterprise based server license utility.

- Provide tactical Engineering for existing Windows Platform technology solutions and deliver Operating System and 3rd party product updates, testing and packaging patch bundles, software lifecycle solutions and software deployment utilities - Provide Engineering support for Compliance, Identify and Access Management, Audit, Security, DMZ, Patch Vulnerability and Disaster Recovery related projects- Provide Windows level escalation and subject matter expert support to Data Center Operations teams in areas such as Operating Systems, kernel and application core dump analysis, Virtual and Physical memory subsystems, device drivers and loadable modules, file system tuning, complex debugging, performance, resource management, virtualization, kernel tracing and tuning, programming, compilers and scripting, - Provide Engineering and 3rd Level support to Global Enterprise Application projects in areas such as design, configuration and deployment of complex Clustered solutions, migrations of new Operating Systems and Application software to parallel environments using the latest qualified hardware, integration methodologies and transition to production newly engineered services/solutionsQualifications: - 10 or more years of IT industry experience with design and trouble shooting experience in both windows server OS and directory services.

Must have system design experience and project management experience in the Windows and VMware platform areas.

- Six or more years of recent experience with setup and administration of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 server; active directory; securing IIS 5 and 6, DNS and Security.

- Four or more years of recent experience in performing service call support.

- Ability to write scripts, create packages and automate reporting for Windows servers and AD criteria - Experience working with managed vendor contracts and managing consultants- Prior configuration management exposure and change management background.

- SMS\SCCM, EMC storage environment, Legato Network experience, patch management and clustering technologies necessary- Microsoft Exchange Server 2000/2003, Citrix XP, SoftGrid, App-V, Enterprise anti-virus solutions needed.

- Windows and VMware server support and administration - Experience with VMware Converter and Platespin software needed for Physical to Virtual migrations between companies, farms or data centers.
