Manager, Maintenance S & Z Area Job in Aiken , South Carolina US
Minimum Experience/Qualifications/Requirements: BS degree in engineering or related science or equivalent with 8 years of experience.
Associates with 12 years of cumulative supervisory and professional experience in MaintenanceDiploma with 16 years of cumulative supervisory and professional experience in MaintenancePrevious management experience or experience in a highly technical role is preferred.
Job Description: Savannah River Remediation is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina.US Citizenship is required for this position.
Responsibilities: Manage a maintenance organization consisting of professionals, managers, supervisors, clerks and E&l and Mechanical specialists responsible for all maintenance activities of the Defense Waste Processing Facility and Z-Area Saltstone Facility to ensure compliance with applicable DOE Orders, SRS plans and practices, and State and Federal regulationsOther Information: This position requires an advanced knowledge of very complex equipment used in chemical processing and vitrification of highly radioactive waste and solidification of low level waste.
This position must be able to apply advanced technical, engineering, and scientific concepts to process equipment problems actual or potential.
The position requires a person with significant people skills dealing with a broad range of personalities, cultural backgrounds, and education levels in a large multidisciplined organization.
Particular skills must be present to deal with nonexempt craft employees and professional employees seeking a broader role in the decision making process.
An advanced knowledge of Safety, Quality Assurance, DOE Orders, and OSHA and Environmental regulations is required.The maintenance manager must plan and organize maintenance efforts, acquire resources to do the tasks and monitor performance vs. objectives.
Utility of the process equipment, avoidance of chemical and radiological incidents, and health and safety of personnel are risks and responsibilities assumed by this position.
The position is responsible for the adequacy of newly installed equipment and, along with his peers, is responsible for the successful checkout and startup of plant equipment.
