DescriptionThis position will assist the Manager in various activities related to the development and execution of youth marketing strategies and plans.

The Assistant Manager will oversee the national high school Player of the Year & Athlete of the Year programs to ensure credible selections, increased awareness and flawless execution of all award announcements.

The Assistant Manager will also lead Gatorade's sports camps and tournament initiatives to drive sideline product usage and efficacy communication platforms.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the tween & teen sports landscape and have experience managing agency and property relationships.

- Lead cross-functional team to deliver fully integrated programming across all youth initiatives.

- Develop annual marketing plans and budgets- Manage day-to-day interaction with sports marketing, equity communications and external partners including event marketing, promotional and fulfillment agencies.

- Measure and evaluate programs based on established objectives- Develop strategic short & long term vision for all youth marketing initiativesNegotiation: Identify and cost-effectively secure property & agency agreementsLeadership: Influencing and motivating a cross-functional team to deliver resultsProject Management: Setting objectives, gaining team alignment, identifying and delivering against key milestones, and developing contingency plansAgency Management: Point person for agencies in setting direction, giving feedback and day-to-day operationsPublic Speaking: Serve as Gatorade spokesperson for Player of the Year and Athlete of the Year national initiativeBusiness Analysis: Analyze youth landscape and consumer trends to develop understanding and insight that leads to the development of competitively advantaged planStrategic Thinking: Develop strategy for product usage objectives consistent with marketing plan and brand equity.

Create strategy to grow awareness & elevate the Player of the Year/Athlete of the Year program.

Financial Management: Perform financial evaluations and analysis; manage $15MM A&M budgetRequirements: Bachelor's Degree; 4-7 years experience in sports and/or event marketing- Self starter with ability to work independently -- high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit - Strong conceptual and strategic thinking - Strong presentation & public speaking skills- Demonstrated ability to develop & cultivate relationships; build consensus & influence business partners- Demonstrated ability to negotiate property and agency agreements- Excellent multi-tasking, solid execution, project management and prioritization skills - Ability to lead and work within team environment - Creative skills -- Strong problem solving and sound business judgment; ability to anticipate issues and resolve them- Solid financial and analytical skills - Strong interpersonal skills, tact- Strong written & oral communication skills- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
