Legacy Mainframe Application Renewal Consultant This will be an opportunity to take advantage of your mainframe and web architecture experience to help revitalize and integrate mainframe applications with web based architectures.
Application Renewal consultants will enable clients to extend the useful life of existing legacy applications.
Responsibilities: Understanding and communication of application development, application architecture, application testing, and application production operations Working with a variety of Programming Languages, Databases, User Interface Technologies, On-line Transaction Processing, Batch Processing, Client/Server Architectures, Networks, Security, User Administration, Mainframe Platforms, and Midrange Platforms Entering unfamiliar client environment and quickly understand and assess the legacy application environment Assessment of the current environment, inventory, and plan for how to utilize newer technology to enhance functionality Developing rapport and demonstrating credibility with client application developers, application managers, application users, IT project managers, and operations and support staff Application of deep technology skills to business problems and develop practical solutions aligned with the business objectives of the client Participation in pre-sales and post-sales activities Shaping application renewal approach Developing options and making recommendations Creation a cost/benefit business case for implementing the recommended approach, ability to develop a point of view and express it Leading team in delivery of recommended approach Bringing structure to an unstructured situation and will demonstrate initiative Ability to travel 100% to Accenture client locations Basic Qualifications: 4+ years development experience with COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS, DB2, or SQL Server 4+ years hands on experience with either COBOL tools, Microsoft IIS 4+ years experience in application development and distributed programming (ie Java, .
