Lead Java Software Engineer Job in Seattle 98101, Washington US
Location: Seattle, WAContract PositionJob Description: As a Back End Software Engineer, you will develop the client's core software architecture, supporting the business logic needs for our products.
You will also help develop and support standards and practices.
You must be highly motivated, creative, flexible and self-motivated with the ability to design and write high performance, reliable and maintainable code within the Cloud and utilizing AWS. You must live and breathe scale as these are early days so breadth of experience is very important.
What You Will Do:
Design and develop/code business process and storage technology.
Build a layered interface and code backend java applications and features using standard open source technologies.
Work with Operations team to build a highly scalable, fault tolerant site with no downtime.
Work on other projects, as needed, and work long, crazy hours.
(Hey, this is a start up!!).
Qualifications:
6+ years developing java backend, preferably at a consumer-facing, e-commerce or social network web site with hundreds of millions of page views per month and millions of passionate users; Cloud and AWS experience desirable.
Expert-level at Java, J2EE, JBI and associated frameworks (Spring, JBoss, Servicemix, etc).
Deep experience with SOA
Experience integrating third-party web service APIs into interfaces.
Solid experience with Agile development methodologies.
Experience with LAMP stack; similar technologies such as Python, and PostgreSQL.
Experience with Lucene/Solr or other enterprise search technologies a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to problem solving.
Solid knowledge of technical project management tools and/or bug tracking systems like Trac, Bugzilla, or Jira and source control systems like CVS, Subversion, or GIT.
Bachelors in Computer Science or commensurate degree; Masters in Computer Science or commensurate desirable.
