LAB MANAGER - Research and Development Job in Lyndhurst 07071, New Jersey US

We are seeking a Lab Manager for our Research and Development facility.
The primary role will be to provide leadership and management to the R&D team whose roles are developing new products.
Specific Responsibilities: Manage and lead a R&D team in all functions including employee performance appraisals and personal growth plan for all direct reports.
Identify second source suppliers -evaluate and approval alternate raw materials.
Responsible for managing approved projects.
Review all Research Proposals, Field Trial Proposals, and Product Releases on projects assigned to the group.
Participate in long-term product planning activities.
Assist Marketing in collecting and analyzing competitors activities.
Coordinate Technical Field Trials with Marketing, Operations and Technical Services group.
Participate in Customer visits and professional conferences to make technical presentations.
Responsible for creating a safe, tidy and harassment free work environment.
Provide support to QS 9000, PCP and PSP processes.
Recommend capital expenditure.
Qualifications/Experience: MS in Chemistry or advanced degree in Polymer Science or Chemical EngineeringStrong polyurethane chemistry background and proven track record of innovative product development.
10+ years hands-on experience in adhesives, sealants, coatings or cement compounds including formulation, product scale-up and commercialization5+ years management experienceExcellent oral communication, technical presentation and technical writing skillExcellent knowledge in Design of Experiment, Design FMEA, and other quality programsSika Corp offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, and educational assistance.
