Junior Project Manager Job in San Diego 92131, California US
Job ID: 555Position Description: The Jr. Project Manager is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and evaluating small to medium enterprise projects with varying complexity levels, based on the input from the functional departments & higher level project managers.
Responsibilities shall also include the collection of input data, processing and analysis of the detailed schedule.
Provide recommendations for schedule maintenance, reporting formats and corrective actions.
Follow established processes, policies and procedures ensuring consistent schedules and project management.
Position Requirements:
2+ years relevant project management experience preferred.
Relevant experience in custom software development/technology consulting is required
Ability to identify and help implement improvements in business processes
Experience working within a matrix organization preferred .
College degree or certification in project management (preferred).
Knowledge of project management and formal project management methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
Working knowledge of management techniques as applied to projects.
Experience assembling and motivating teams that work together to deliver quality results.
Creative problem solving skills, win-win mentality.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Advanced ability to use Project Management tools including Microsoft Project, Excel.
Experience with Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of one or more project specialty areas (Software development, Systems Implementation)
Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), and ability to operate effectively within the process.
Sensitivity to the needs of every individual to be treated with respect and fairness.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure.
Flexible to support/lead late night deployments to production as required.
