Junior Graphic Designer Job in Chicago 60642, Illinois US
DescriptionChiasso, a national direct-marketer of modern home furnishings, seeks an entry-level Graphic Designer to assist in the layout/production of its print catalog, merchandising analysis, and to edit photography for its Website.
Our catalog, store, and Website set the standard for unique modern furniture and accessories, while our small, collaborative work environment fosters teamwork and strong relationships.Job ResponsibilitiesCatalog ProductionLayout and produce catalog pages under the direction of the Art Director
1. Place sketches, copy, pick-up and vendor photos into layouts2.
Assist Art Director at photography shoots3.
Place new photos delivered from photography studio into layouts4.
Make edits to catalog layouts5.
Update all images and copy to catalogs and server6.
Prepare catalog files for color separator and coordinate timely and accurate deliver
7. Assist in the color correction of merchandise photography8.
Manage creative content archivesWeb Support and Image Editing
Edit and upload photos to Website admin.

Routine maintenance of Website photography
Assist Art Director in preparing weekly homepage and email blasts as needed
Assist Marketing Department with PR efforts by responding to media requests for images
Edit vendor photos as neededMerchandising Analysis
Assist the Merchandising Department with the preparation of its catalog productivity report by blocking measurements and calculations.

Perform special projects as assigned including print advertising, business cards, retail signage, etc.Candidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess a BFA in graphic design or the equivalent professional work experience, exceptional attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Great organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor are a must.
An eye for design is essential, however this is primarily a layout/production position.
Proficiency in Quark or InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Excel required.
Knowledge of HTML a plus.
A great learning opportunity for a production professional with 1-2 years experience.
