We are looking for a hands-on Junior Accounant to manage the critical financial details that make our business work smoothly.
Working with our highly experienced CFO, you will manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and personnel and benefits administration.

Prepare deposits and post cash
Process credit card transactions
Update check register
Follow-up to achieve no outstanding receivable balances
Review invoices, get approvals where necessary, allocate charges and process for paymentOrder Entry and Billing
Enter sales orders in Peachtree and process invoices at the appropriate time
Receive and review facilitator invoices and bill through to clientMonth End, Quarterly, and Year End ClosingMonth End
Prepare unearned revenue analysis, payroll entry, standard journal entries, monthly sales spreadsheets
Enter, Edit, and Post journal entries
Prepare other analyses (e.
g., cash reconciliation) as assigned
Compile all supporting documentation and financial statements in the monthly binderQuarterly
Reconcile payroll expense to 941
Physical inventory
MA sales tax filingYear-End Closing
Prepare and distribute 1099s
Coordination preparation of year-end account analyses and binder for outside auditors
Distribute W-2s to employees after verifying accuracy of information to permanent recordsPayroll, Personnel, and Benefits AdministrationNew Employees, Status Changes, and Terminations
Create and maintain employee files and forms
Track/notify supervisors of performance review dates
Prepare COBRA forms as necessary and ensure that all BC items are returned from terminated employeesPolicy Manual
Edit and update manual as needed under the supervision of the CFO
Work with the CFO to clarify, update or define a policy when the need arises
Share information with staff on new/revised policiesBenefits Administration
Participate in the renewal of benefit policies as requested by the Controller
Set-up the appropriate withholdings
Remit benefit insurance payments and withholdings to the appropriate entities
Review benefits and personnel policies with new hires
Add new and remove terminated employees to benefit plans as necessary Payroll
Prepare and transmit payroll information to service bureau
Set up new hires and remove terminated employees from payroll
Process changes in banking or withholding information
Calculate and record commissions for sales people
Reconcile processed payroll to transmitted payrollSkills and Qualifications of a Successful Candidate
Two to five years of experience in a business-to-business professional services setting
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and systems an absolute necessity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Excel a non-negotiable
Familiarity with Peachtree a big plus
Familiarity with benefit plans
Experience with payroll processing a plus
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Professional demeanor
