Inside Sales / Customer Service - Fun job! Job in Niles 60714, Illinois US
TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One is entry level and the other is for an experienced customer service rep. COMPENSATION: Base salary plus a monthly override on all existing account activity.
First year: $30-$40,000.
Potential to $50k+.
LOCATION: Niles, IL DUTIES: This is an inside sales/customer service role for a national trade association with no cold calling and is a critically important position for the company.
After a sales rep has called on a business and signed them up for services, the account is then turned over to a customer service rep that functions as the primary contact for that business.
It is the job of the customer service rep to have on-going contact with the customer to find out their purchasing needs and to put them in contact with other association members who may be able to satisfy that need.
Each rep is charged with managing a portfolio of 200-250 existing customers across the United States who will frequently call in with questions about the service.
The relationship between customer service and client is very friendly and even fun. While a lot of the day-to-day routine involves the passive response to requests from clients, customer service reps that are more proactive can actually increase their own incomes since there is a transaction override paid to the rep on all the activity of all the clients in the portfolio.
Proactive projects might include calling clients regarding golf tickets, restaurant choices, business purchasing, or national travel opportunities.
Reps with a proactive sales orientation outperform reps who are passive.
QUALIFICATIONS: You must have experience in inside sales, outside sales or customer service and be skilled in Microsoft office applications (Word and Excel are required).
You must also possess an engaging telephone personality to manage an existing customer base of 200+ clients.
A background in collections is a definite plus.
