Information Security Specialist II Job in Irving 75063, Texas US
BASIC PURPOSEResearches, designs, tests, and implements the necessary information security systems, controls, and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction.
Provides guidance and direction for the physical protection of information systems assets to other functional units.
Provides reports to Bank management regarding effectiveness of data security and makes recommendations for the adoption of new policy and procedures.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIE
1. Performs technical lead functions for security projects, applications and systems2 Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the Banks information protection policy, as well as provides security related user training3 Creates and maintains logical security reporting that facilitates logical security monitoring on each of the Banks processing environment4 Monitors the Banks logical security environment, as well as researches security incident5 Administers the logical security activities of the Bank by maintaining the User ID and access rules for the processing platforms.
In addition, provides guidance to user security administrators responsible for specific application security6 Helps ensure that the Bank is in compliance with software licensing agreements through periodic monitoring and enforcement activities7 Coordinates Information Technology's contingency planning effort, assisting in plan development, maintenance and testing8 Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS1.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science required.
(Note: directly related job experience and/or a related business degree can be substituted in lieu of this degree requirement.)2. 6-8 years of related job experience in Information Systems Security working with UNIX, Windows,and/or Tandem systems.
3. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required4 Knowledge of and experience securing client-server, SUN, UNIX, Microsoft, TCP/IP, relational database, transactional websites, personal computer and related peripheral equipment are required5 Knowledge of and experience implementing, managing, and testing controls against Sarbanes Oxley, ISO17799, COBIT, and/or COSO6 Advanced knowledge of logical security systems operating within Unix, Microsoft and Tandem environments and how they interact with each other7 Experience with the application systems aspects of the banking or investment services industry, preferred8 Must possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively work with all levels of Bank management.
