IT&S Consulting Application Engineer Job in Nashville 37201, Tennessee US
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This is a hands-on technically focused consulting level position on the Growth Analytics development team.
The position is responsible for implementing dashboard and reporting applications and ensuring those applications strategically align with HCA business initiatives, development standards, and best practices.
The position is also responsible for providing routine production support and maintenance tasks to current production reporting applications.
Provide technical leadership and consulting between HCA and various third-party developers.
This role will coordinate reviews and technical questions among many technical teams to ensure third-party work product is sufficient to HCA standards and best practices.
The successful candidate will have the ability to review requirements and craft technical design documentation that allows for future scalability, interoperability, and reduced maintenance.
The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities.
Occasional interaction with vendors, business analysts, and business owners is also required.
Specific Responsibilities: · Responsible for understanding business requirements and developing complex Extract Transform and Load (ETL) with Informatica · Translate business requirement documentation into technical design specifications · Assist in the development of Enterprise Data Warehouse data architecture · Perform Informatica development assignments to established standards and best practices · Perform moderate and complex development assignments without assistance · Unit tests own development thoroughly · Cross train across many BI Tools including Hyperion Essbase and Arcplan · Lead medium and large scale development projects involving multiple departments · Able to build strong relationships within the department, with other technical people, and with our business partners.
· Understands entire application and how the components work together · Provide mentorship and guidance to other Informatica developers · Looks for ways to improve production reporting applications and the development process · Can resolve complex on call issues without assistance · Expected to multi-task effectively · Actively participates in meetings · Able to establish and meet target dates Implement Growth Analytic reporting applications - analyze business requirements to architect, design, develop, and implement highly efficient, highly scalable Informatica ETL processes (40% of time) Provide in-depth technical consultationDesign Informatica ETL solutionsDevelop logical and physical data modelsWork closely with application teams, business analysts, data analysts and database administrators to ensure the ETL solution meets business requirementsDevelop Informatica ETL processesDevelop Informatica Audit & Control processesDesign and execution of all phases of application testingDocumentation, including source-to-target mappings and business-driven transformation rules Provide routine production support and maintenance tasks to current clinical production reporting applications.
(40% of time) Respond to and resolve production issuesPerform root cause analysis and document to prevent production issues from reoccurring Administrative and other (20% of time).
Qualified candidates must have at least 7 - 10 years of relevant work experience.
