Closing Date: June 30, 2010 DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The position is responsible for the successful completion of information technology (IT) projects that encompass the management of all aspects of project implementation regarding initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closing project phases which includes the scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and customer satisfaction of a specific project.
The position is responsible for determining the operational and financial feasibility of developing systems and business processes.
The position is also responsible for directing the work of MDE technical, functional and business analysts, contractors, and consultants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology related fields, or Business Management.
Experience: Three years of experience managing Information Technology projects with direct responsibilities for policy and standards development and implementation, strategic planning, budget development and monitoring.
Two years of the above required experience must have involved the supervision of a professional staff.
NOTE: Four additional years of management experience in the Information Technology field may be substituted for the required education.
Selective Qualifications: (required) The selected candidate must have: 2 years experience in managing and implementing major information technology developmental projects in excess of $1M in total development costs; 2 years experience using MS Project 2000-2007;2 years experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies as defined by Marylands Department of Information Technology (DoIT).
2 years experience with the Project Management Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) version 3 or later.
As well as: An active certification by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
