IT Help Desk Technician Job in Sprinfield 62711, Illinois US

Job duties include the following:*Diagnose and resolve technical issues with emphasis on customer service.*Act as a liaison between the field teams and the corporate office to help resolve issues.*Ability to work varying shifts.*Respond to email and phone calls regarding desktop and help desk requests from end users. *Assist with the creation and editing of accounts, mailbox, distribution lists, resetting passwords, etc. *Setup of new workstations, laptops, wireless routers and printers.*Package and ship computer hardware kits for field teams. *Work with vendors to repair computer equipment. *Monitor and check health/status of multiple systems on a daily basis*Restore lost or damaged files. *Clean virus, spyware infected computer equipment. *Assist with researching of new technologies to contribute to the improvement of business processes. Interested candidates must have the following experience:*6 months experience in a technical help desk environment.*Ability to demonstrate strong aptitude and knowledge of personal computer hardware/software.*Proficient in Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Windows Vista and 7 operating systems*Be able to troubleshoot internet connectivity, hardware configuration and networking issues remotely*Possess a fundamental understanding of Internet connectivity, networking terminology, web (HTTP) and email (POP/SMTP) protocols.*Experience with purchasing computer equipment is a plusLocal candidates only.  Interested and qualified candidates should reply to this posting with an updated resume in Word document format.
