IT Help Desk Job in Chicago 60608, Illinois US
Network Analyst / Desktop Support Responsibilities: · Build/ install computers, troubleshoot problems and some Active Directory administration.
Very involved in user machine configuration for Exchange / Active Directory· Support Windows XP, Active Directory, Windows Server 2003, Citrix Server Farm· Maintain daily backups· Maintain web filtering software and user access· Create and maintain user documentation· Maintain a complete inventory of all equipment and software· Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically· Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues· Research questions using available information resources · Advise user on appropriate action· Follow standard help desk procedures· Log all help desk interactions · Redirect problems to appropriate resource· Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention· Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions· Stay current with system information, changes and updates · Requires some lifting Education and Experience · Bachelor's Degree in computer science or other related discipline.
· Three years relevant experience providing end user support and troubleshooting general networking issues in a Microsoft Windows environment· Microsoft Certification a plus· Security and/or networking certifications a plus· Knowledge and experience of customer service practices· Related experience and training Key Competencies: · Learning skills· Customer service orientation · Problem analysis · Problem-solving · Adaptability · Planning and organizing · Attention to detail · Stress tolerance
