Human Resources Manager Job in San Antonio, Texas US
JOB DESCRIPTION: Temple-Inland is a premier producer of corrugated containers and building products and is currently seeking an Human Resources Manager at the Texas Sheets plant in San Antonio, TX. The essential functions for this position include but are not limited to - Partner with plant management on all issues affecting plant operations.
Coordinate and train on Safety Management System to insure all OSHA and safety required training is within compliance.
Facilitate weekly safety committee meetings and training materials.
Administration of labor contract which includes processing of grievances.
Must be able to work independently, be detail oriented and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Provide resolution to specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquires.
Complete understanding of Federal and State Laws including FLSA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC and FMLA.
Manage and administer hourly payroll.
Provide coaching and development to front line management and employees on HR issues.
Promote a positive employee relations environment through consistent application of open door policy, and promoting open dialogue between employees and management.
Visibility requires professional appearance and providing a positive HR image to all employees.
Manage, Recruitment, Workers Compensation, Disability, Benefits, and Leave of Absence process.
Conduct new-hire orientation and coordinate the employee communication programs.
Facilitate and coordinate all HR administrative duties for the plant.
Able to drive positive changes and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Coordinate ongoing company wide and local HR projects.
Must possess high levels of integrity, trust, morale courage and have the ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor degree in human resources management or related field plus a minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing is preferred.
Previous experience working in unionized environments is a plus.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel Outlook, and Powerpoint.
