Much of what makes Brandon a strong and successful organization is the dedication, diversity, experience and expertise of our staff.Our school is currently seeking a licensed High School Social Studies Teacher, preferable SPED certified, to join our Education team.
A teacher who ensures the provision of the highest quality of services to the youth in our care by creating an environment which is safe, respectful and positive for all. Have a working knowledge of our schools mission and philosophy, understand and follow all policies and procedures, and work as a team member.
The responsibilities for this position are as follows: · Design and implement an appropriate curriculum for each content area· Assess client performance levels, learning styles, strengths and weaknesses, and develop appropriate goals and objectives· Measure and evaluate client progress· Participate in the Individualized Education Programs (IEP) process as required · Prepare weekly lesson plans and substitute lesson plans· Complete all paperwork including assessment reports, quarterlies, year-end reports, report cards and IEP goals and objectives as required and on time· Maintain an organized, neat and stimulating classroom space· Serve as a role model for clients at all times· Set and maintain consistent/constructive limits and provide corrective learning/processing experiences for clients· Communicate job related information effectively to team members· Actively participate in department meetings, treatment teams, quarterly conferences, IEP meetings, etc· Attend all required orientations and trainings· Actively participate in and utilize supervision by bringing agenda items, setting goals, etc· Use and reassess behavior management systems for individual clients, combining firm limit-setting, discipline and therapeutic non-violent physical intervention if needed· Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisory or administrative staffThe successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree, Masters Degree and SPED certified preferred.
Must have excellent organizational and computer skills, while being able to multi-task.
Any candidate hired must have a valid driver's license.
This is a full-time position.
We are looking to fill this position ASAP.The Brandon Residential Treatment Center offers Health (with premium costs decreasing for the employee the longer he/she stays), Dental, Life, STD, LTD, tuition reimbursement and very generous time-off plan which increases the longer an employee stays.
