Health Care Assistant - HCA Job in Chula Vista, California US
Location This position is located in Chula Vista.
Hours Variable shift.
11:00 pm - 7:30 am two nights per week as a clerk; 7:00 pm - 7:30 am one night a week as a Nursing Assistant, including weekends.
Qualifications Nursing Assistant training or current enrollment in nursing program required.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
One year Nursing Assistant and one year unit clerk experience preferred.
Current CPR certification required.
Excellent communication skills required, Knowledge of patients in intensive care setting, good computer skills required Excellent telephone etiquette; organizational skills a must.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Summary Performs as the coordinator of communication for the ICU and assumes primary responsibility for medical record management within the unit.
Facilitates patient data management through transcription, order entry and documentation.
Provides basic ADL's for patients and assists with measuring vital signs.
Assists RN in tracking, maintaining and storing equipment and supplies and other department resources as directed.
28 bed MICU and 7 bed SICU.
Physical Requirements Able to reposition and transfer patients to gurneys and chairs.
