Govt Sr Spec Software Assurnce Job in Columbia , Maryland US
Govt Sr Spec Software Assurnce-1033619DescriptionSynopsis: Application Test Engineer - candidate will be responsible for analysis of system requirements; development of test plans, test tools, and test data; execution of planned tests to verify that implementations meet requirements; and documentation of test results.
Focus on system-level, end-to-end testing with the ability to decompose complex issues and isolate root causes when problems are encountered.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are imperative.
The candidate must be a strong individual contributor who can also team with other testers, system engineers, and developers as needed.
Must maintain flexibility to contend with a dynamic environment in which customer requirements and priorities change frequently.
Candidate must possess or be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Required Skills: Minimum 5 years experience testing complex, real-time, high-volume data processing systems.
Must have strong knowledge of and test experience with IP networking/routing/switching/encryption.
Must be proficient Linux user with experience using network analysis tools such as tcpdump and wireshark.
Must be capable of developing test scripts as needed to facilitate analysis of test results and automation of testing.
Desired Skills: Experience testing applications developed in a variety of languages (C++, java, shell) is desired.
Experience testing with Juniper routers desired.
Experience integrating off-the-shelf components with custom-developed applications is desired.
Working knowledge of SQL (oracle/sybase/mysql) is a plus.
Experience testing within a SCRUM development framework will be helpful.
