GIS Analyst (Floodplain Mapping) Job in BELTSVILLE 20705, Maryland US
PBS&J is currently seeking a Scientist or GIS Analyst to join the Floodplain Hazard Management team in Beltsville, Maryland.
This individual will assist with quality reviews for completed Flood Insurance Rate Maps, Geospatial databases and Flood Insurance Studies for compliance with FEMA requirements.
Additional duties will include: • Research key information from client and corporate databases as well as print sources.
• Prepare flood studies for submission to FEMA.
• Utilize computer software, especially GIS, to reconcile information from the various sources • Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
There is no relocation reimbursement available for this position.
Job Requirements: Qualified candidates will have a BA or BS in GIS, Geography, Water Sciences or related field.
This position requires 0-2 years work experience.
Additionally, experience with FIRM production and the National Flood Insurance Program is preferred.
Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
Candidates must be authorized to work permanently in the United States for any employer.
