Freight Payables Job in Houston 77032, Texas US
A client of mine in North Houston has an immediate need for a Freight Payables Specialist to join their team on a temporary-to hire basis.
- Responsible for maintaining truck, rail and ocean rates in Ribs system to ensure proper and timely payment to carriers for the movement of fiber.
- Set up new freight rates for truck, rail and ocean carriers in Ribs.
- Update and maintain existing freight rates in Ribs.
- Trouble shoots rate issues or errors from Ribs.
- Research, confirm and complete price correction from internal and external parties.
- Reconcile past due vendor accounts.
- Must be detailed in checking for rate errors which could result in overpayment of freight costs.
- Solid computer skills with MS Office suite and Lotus Notes.
- Experience with freight payables.
- Ability to recognize discrepancies with freight invoices and to communicate with freight companies regarding inconsistencies found.
- Keeping a watchful eye on freight invoices for errors and acting on the discrepancies lessens the possibility of overpayment of invoices.Job Experience: - Must be detailed in checking for rate errors which could result in overpayment of freight costs.
