Financial Systems Engineer Job in New York 10005, New York US
The Financial Systems Engineer works with the customer engineers through the sales process until the solution goes livein production.
This process begins with providing technical support to the sales team in the pre-evaluationphase from the first sales meeting, through the design of the proof of concept environment to the delivery ofthe software.
The technical consultant then works with the customer through the evaluation phase; then on topilot and production roll out. Customer focus and our ability to deliver exceptional technical service are criticalfactors that underpin our success.Key Accountabilities
Managing customer evaluations and installation
Project management of major software rollout projects
Installation and management of software on customer / prospect sites or remotely over VPN
Onsite visits with technical Q&A
Technical sales support
Onsite / offsite consulting and gap development
Troubleshooting, issue reproduction and resolution
Writing requirements documents and prototyping new product concepts
Technical writing including white papers and user guides
Providing customer feedback to the sales and development teams
Induction, managing and mentoring of new team memberKnowledge, Skills and Experience RequiredEssential Skills
BSc Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
Experience of Unix/Linux
Formal training or experience of computer programming/scripting
Effective communication both written & verbal
Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity and meetingdeadlines
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced day-to-day activity
Ability to win consistently in a highly competitive environment
Reliable / disciplined delivery of consistent customer serviceDesirable skills
Experience in the deployment of network infrastructure software products
Familiarity with messaging middleware eg, IBMs MQ Series or Tibcos Rendezvous
