Field Engineer (Hardware Products) Job in Vista, California US
This position requires a highly motivated person who enjoys working in a lab environment with production hardware manufacturing.
This person will travel to customer sites to perform installation, training and servicing.
Upon completion of installation, this person will continue to provide ongoing support as questions and problems arise at customer sites.
This role will work with other engineering and software personnel as required to support design, integration and testing efforts.
Other duties include: Perform ScanScope system acceptance test and final production check proceduresCoordinate customer installation plans.
Travel to customer sites to install systems and train customersProvide second-level engineering support to our Technical Support staffUpdate applicable Quality System proceduresParticipate in Technical Certification training program Other responsibilities as needed: Conducting customer training and post sales supportParticipating in user meetingsCandidates are expected to follow and constantly improve processes and procedures for test, installation and servicing of ScanScope systems.
Innovation and problem solving are an important part of the position, along with an ability to communicate problems and solutions to the production design team.
Candidates must have solid engineering skills in at least one of the following areas: Electronics design / troubleshooting, opto-mechanical system design and test, software / hardware integration, or systems engineering.
Required Qualifications: Good interpersonal skills.
Able to deal directly with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person.
Comfortable acting as a representative of Company's TechnologiesSuccess working in a process-driven Quality environmentFamiliarity with mechanical drawings and machine shop proceduresExperience with software systems installations and trainingMust have a car large enough to hold a ScanScope, a valid drivers license and automobile insuranceAbility to travel 50% - 60%Preferred Qualifications: BA / BS in engineering or a related field is a plus3-5 Years work experience in an engineering environmentProgramming, software testing, or IT background is a plusWorking knowledge of pathology
