Fellow- Quality Statistician Job Job in Barrington, Illinois US
DescriptionThe Quality Statistician is a key enabling position for the NAB Quality organization.
The position will support Innovation, Commercialization, Field, Food Safety, and Supply Quality functions.
The primary mission is to apply statistical rigor to the design of experiments, test protocols, qualification activities, manufacturing control plans, cost management activities, and problem solving opportunities to ensure that appropriate decisions can be made on the basis of objective proof and statistical significance.
This position will provide guidance and influence other PepsiCo internal organizations such as Product Development, Strategic Supply Management, and Supply Chain.
1 Key contributor supporting NAB Quality- Design studies and provide statistical analyses to help guide the efforts of NAB Quality, PD, Supply Chain and SSM2 Provide leadership to NAB Quality, SC, SSM, and all of R&D in methods that will improve the effectiveness and success rate of all. - Increased use of statistical inference testing and capability analysis throughout the organization.
Increased level of project success in-market and on-line3 Builder of collaborative relationships with internal and outside resources and able to leverage methods and technology in related fields for potential impact in Pepsi-Cola Businesses.
- Technologies adapted & developed to meet PepsiCo's needs quickly & at low cost4 Increase the organizational effectiveness within NAB Quality.
- Develop and deliver courses for various statistical methods5 Become a broadly recognized internal resource to provide support on an ongoing basis to provide assistance in experimental design, modeling, capability analysis, and analysis of quantitative information.
- Impact the way we design studies, analyze data and make decisions in a cost effective manner, and become key influence manager for using these techniques.
Requirements: - Strong statistical knowledge and experience in applying statistical methods to Quality opportunities, Development, Marketing Research, Sensory and consumer guidance activities.
- Strong understanding of Quality principles, Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Product Development, and Sensory Science.
- Primary Knowledge in Quantitative skills.
- Ability to recognize and leverage methods and technologies developed in other industries for impact at Pepsi.
- Ability to communicate a business case for technology investment to senior executives, especially R&D and Quality executives.
- Pragmatic decision maker.
- Excellent leadership and influence management skills- Must be detail oriented with strong analytical and project management skills.
- Self-motivator and ability to work in team environment.
- Ability to develop and deliver target statistical training.
- At a minimum, applicant must have a Master's degree in Statistics or a related quantitative discipline (with significant course work in statistics).
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Product Development, Sensory Department, or Marketing Research.
- Strong desire for quality certifications such as : CQE, CQM, LSSBB- Solid and demonstrable experience in quantitative and statistical analysis with a clear understanding of statistical and quantitative methods.
- Working knowledge in statistical analysis software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter who is not content with the status quo, consistently looking for a better way to improve upon PepsiCo processes and increase the effectiveness of guidance techniques.
