FLEET MECHANIC Job in Midlothian 76065, Texas US
Maintain and repair all tractors and trailers to ensure their safe and reliable operation.
Description of duties and task essential job functions
Maintain and repair tractors and trailers to include but not limited to brakes, front end/steering inspections, engine work and related electrical work.
Review and sign Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles to include grease, oil filters, water pumps, hose inspections, belts, lights and electrical systems.
Order and maintain the necessary inventory of parts to perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
Perform data-entry in the maintenance of vehicle repair log, preventative maintenance logs and other Toys "R" Us paperwork.
Review all vendor proposals for parts and services purchased with the Transportation Manager.
Able to drive the tractors in order to test/inspect the vehicle after performing repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
Guest Service.
Address all inquiries and questions by drivers and transportation personnel.
A minimum of 2 to 3 years related experience, and some technical training or coursework required.
Ability to read and understand the English language sufficiently in order to analyze or process repair and maintenance manuals, invoices and/or any other written material.
Basic English language writing skills necessary for the completion of written paperwork.
Have valid commercial driver's license.
Ability to learn and perform all essential functions accurately with minimal direct supervision within 12 weeks of hire.
